Do you know, so much about the type of good Science [Discovery & Wonder] does get shelved and filed away. I only say this because over in the part of the United States where I come from, in dealing with Forestry issues and education on newer understanding, such is not reflected in most all of the management policies or even School textbooks. They are stagnated as far as understanding and management techniques by literature which came out decades ago. I spent the two month [April/May] visit over there documenting with camera things I did that the experts said would never work, like replicating what is observed in Nature. My, I even surprised myself. Well, to be honest, it wasn't me, it was Nature that surprised me. I mean, I've seen it over and over again, and I still get Goose Bumps.

My last employer in San Diego was from Australia. He said that things had changed over there in Aussieland as far as Patents and that Glyphosate patent had run out and China was making some cheaper stuff. Actually, I think he said China was doing this before the Patent expired, which would be more believable with regards China.

I think it's a sort of Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Sort of like Climate Change. They know what should be done, but opt for building economies at any cost to pacify the Citizens. Neglect people's wants and desires and a Politician will soon be out of a job. That's why dirty deals :handshake: are made under the table all the time.

I remembered this from last year. Monsanto applied for Water Rights to be able to further tap into the Waipahu-Waiawa Aquifer System in Hawaii which would have made their GMO Corn the larger crop and perhaps replacing Pineapple and other crops traditionally grown there.

They applied for the Well Drilling application I believe in May 2012 which was taken up by the Water Commission in August 2012

    https://hawaii.gov/dlnr/cwrm/submittal/2012/sb201208D1.pdf

Then in November 2012 there was a hearing and delay:

Monsanto Water Case Is A Test For New Commission

But then apparently it was denied, much to many folk's delight.

    https://maui-tomorrow.org/water-commission-denies-monsanto-request/

But then this bit of News comes out in February 2013 about a Monsanto lobbyist being appointed to the Water Resource Council. This is interesting considering what was said back in November 2012 by Monsanto's Attorney who aditted this:

    https://www.civilbeat.com/articles/2013/02/12/18318-why-is-a-monsanto-lobbyist-serving-on-a-water-resource-panel/

Amazing! Ever wonder whether Monsanto has a special Wing of their St Louis headquarters which is called a Strategy War Room ?

Yes, he's been pushing the Monsanto agenda for some time now. In fact his investments helped prop them back up again. He's also part owner along with Monsanto and some others like DuPont in the Norwegian Doomsday Seed Bank vault

The last one just simply translate from German to English

I think I finally figured out where that technology may be going. https://www.epa.gov/acidrain/effects/forests.html It finally clicked in my little brain that when the oceans further acidify, we're going to see more of that 1980's acid rain again. When the acid rain soaks in to the ground, it lowers the pH of the soil. When soil pH gets low enough, toxic metals(such as aluminum and lead) become an issue for plants. Well, they become issues for us too, but the plants will probably die off first since we have "chemical solutions" for our water supply. Maybe I should look for land with a high pH or accessible lime that I can crush easily.

I still remember upper NY State when the acid rain occurred there. Huge stands of trees along the NY throughway just standing and dead.... ..everywhere. If I remember NY took huge steps to lining forests with large limestone rocks to help counter the problem at the time.

Money talks, bullshit walks. Funny how we prefer the bullshit over the money.

if they can't get the science to show what they want they just buy the scientists, the politicians and the regulators.

i wonder if the citizens will protest... i sure hope so.

It's not just gmo but some conventional breeding under commercial pressure is extremely stupid even dangerous. Several years ago I came across a rocket seed at a price of 200 euros/kilo?!?!?
How easy to grow and diverse and ancient are rockets is well known. But:
