Thanks for this, I can actually use this. Here is another radical event which happened Wednesday in Santa rosa New Mexico.

Two feet of hail fell from one thunderstorm. The scene looks like winter.

Further to the ABC's Catalyst vodcast 'Extreme Weather', above, and in response to an external email request, please find a link to the transcript, the supporting journal articles, and other supporting scientific material, here:

    https://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/3796205.htm

This, and all the other Catalyst vodcasts are available for free, permanent (MP4, WMV) download, here:

Finally, many of the Catalyst vodcasts are also available as YTs, and this might be a better viewing option for people with lower bandwidth:

    'Climate change reversal is possible'

ABC Radio National - Late Night Live

    Audio download available:

19 August 2013 - Climate change reversal is possible

Peter Andrews OAM says the reversal of climate change, the most urgent problem facing humanity today, is possible. Bringing large areas back from environmental ruin are key to stabilising the earth's climate, and making sustainable agriculture possible. Industry needs to adapt but individuals are essential in this turnabout.

I watched a spectacular documentary last night called "Chasing Ice" https://www.chasingice.com/see-the-film/trailer/
This was very scary stuff. The producer of the program set up multiple time lapse cameras in locations to monitor Ice Shelves in the Arctic, Greenland, and Alaska. His vision was to be able to present to the world visually what is happening in those regions as he feels that graphs and stats don't have the same impact on the public. What he discovers surprises him. In one location alone we have lost more Ice in the previous decade than in the last century. Also soot and polution is making the ice in many areas dirty. The result is that the darker pollutants absorb more heat and melt the surrounding ice faster.

This documentary is well worth a look if you can get hold of a copy. The organisation he founded is called Extreme Ice Survey: https://extremeicesurvey.org/
