    Hello fellow permies!

So I've only just emerged into the world of permaculture.

My interests sprung up about a year ago when I became interested in gardening in general - when I began to read up on where to get seeds I found out about heirloom plants; then I found a permaculture book in my house...

It snowballed from there, I guess.

I've found I've become so interested in the whole notion of self sufficiently it's become a bigger goal than any goal I've had before.

Unfortunately, I have the usual starting difficulties; living in an apartment with about 10 square meters of (south-east!) balcony, and people around me who don't believe I could make anything of myself by following self-sufficiency as a lifestyle...

However, I'm hoping this place will be a nice source of education from which I can expand my knowledge base, at least!

    Welcome sammyjopeters :)
I started gardening on aground floor Paddington flat with no balcony or light.
    You have to start somewhere
Maybe you could invite your sceptical neighbours over to share your harvest one day?!

sounds like you have Sun and water and given some good soil you are off and running. Remember to use the vertical space you have and try planting things close. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Hi Sammy....don't lose site of your dream. There are plenty of experts to listen to on this forum (I'm not one of them...only joined last week) and lots of encouragement. Don't let any of your neighbours get you down. You can do it :)
