Between my wife and I we have 2 PDCs under our belts, with 13 years each of practical permaculture experience. We moved to "the country" and bought 8 acres of beautiful Kentucky farmland that had been in pasture and haying for the last 20 years. We built a straw bale house using natural building techniques, coupled with modern materials, and have been happily implementing our permaculture plan for the last 3 years on the property. We have over 610 meters of swales on 2 hectares of land. We have planted 300+ chinese chestnuts, 400 American hazelnuts, 100 black locusts and a slew of apples, pears, Asian pears, persimmons, pawpaws and seaberries. We also have thornless blackberries, raspberries, currants, gooseberries and blueberries. Oh, and several kinds of bush cherries as well as hardy kiwi and grapes. We are taking small steps toward finishing out that master plan. It is amazing the changes that have happened in such a short time. We don't offer PDC's but we do offer personal tours if you contact us ahead of time. We also invite folks to come work with us on small projects, but since we have such a small place, we don't offer lodging or camping on site.
howdy and welcome, pictures are always appreciated! sounds lovely though, very nice to have some space to try things.
