This seems to be the latest feral invading!my river How do i make this problem a solution ??? They tend to hang out in the shallow warm water Perhaps i could use them like sardines/fish paste as per "Ferment and human nutrition"
I thought they were pretty wide spread. I use to catch hundreds to feed my turtles. They like running water like a small waterfall. Use hand nets or bait traps but that would only make a small dent in the population.
I always thought turtle water, tortoise land but I think its the opposite in US Should have been teenage mutant ninja tortoises
The radio told you a lie. I used to catch the most Gambusia in the coolest and most shaded waters. We would still catch them in the warmer parts of the stream but not nearly as many. Unfortunately we will never be rid of Gambusia. Catch as many as you can and feed them to your poultry. The problem is now a solution, it is lowering feed costs and increasing protein. You can also bury them prior to planting corn in a similar way to burying carp except with a far smaller fish but to be honest I think the greatest gains come from feeding them to poultry.
