Hello all. My name's Chris, I'm 27 and I currently work as a gardener. I currently live in a rental property and am trying to develop a permaculture way of living that will work in that context. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

The two areas I feel I would like to gain more knowledge of are:
    1. Rainwater collection
    2. Solar/wind energy

Anything else I can learn and share is a plus!

Much love to you all. :)

Hi Chris. Where you live is close to my name..Adeleide..:) I'm afraid my rainwater collection is pretty low tech, I have food safe buckets for the water off the roof. In the yard in general though I have created swales, spirals, and terraces that trap the water that falls all over my yard not just my roof. I use things like stones, logs, and mulch to hold the water in the soil which is sand here..
And I would say keep in mind low tech passive energy forms, low tech wind and solar, a clothes line or a solar oven, a black bag shower, an open window or a black out shade..to start anyway. It seems to me like running each energy consuming item off its own system is actually most efficient ,for us anyway.
Don't know if any of that will help you but who knows.
Love to you too, hope you're having a great day. :)
