  1. So bummed I’ve just missed out on this!! Please let me know if you’ll have any other events as my husband and I have decided that we want to build an earthship for our family in Victoria and could really use some guidance.

  2. Hello earthship troopers! Very keen to get some hands on experience in this movement, ever since watching Garbage Warriors years ago! If there is anything coming up in 2014 I would love the opportunity to be a part of it. If it wouldn’t be to much bother keeping me informed, I would appreciate it.
    Cheers, Ben

    1. Heh ben let me know when another is on the horizon..and I’ll do the same 4 u..there seems tob a lack of co-ordination on this topic. regards g

  3. i would love to build an earthship on our 40 acre property out past kingaroy. but i have no such experience. would like to hear from anyone that does.

  4. Hi my husband and I have wanted to build our own place for a while but we do need some guidance and bit more knowledge. We’d be so grateful if you could let us know when more of this workshops come up x

  5. I have just moved to Queensland from Perth. I am looking for land to build on and also to build a free energy device , the QEG . I want to meet others who are interested.

    1. A Free energy device would allow us to destroy the earth very quickly and we are already doing a pretty quick job with very expensive energy.
Car airbags or impaling spikes which would really slow your driving down.

  6. Interested in future workshops or helping others build for experience, various skills, tiling, building, sailmaking, Forklift. Prepping for my own build in a couple of years. Keen to network.

  7. Don’t make the mistake of getting caught up in a trademark name. “Earthship” is a brand, not a method.
The method however can be utilized by anyone and the methods used by those that sell the Earthship name are not p[attened or exclusive. ANYONE can use tires, dirt (earth) concrete, passive and active system for heat, cooling, water reclamation, waste disposal recycling etc etc. Also size, ANYONE can use these methods. People have been living in underground or partially underground structures for many thousands of years before the marketers of “Earthship” started with their schtick.
In fact, I built a “passive house” underground utilizing many of the methods that Earthship charges big bucks to tell you how to do so.
My home is however very different in appearance and design. I use no tires as their use complicates what is otherwise a concrete and dirt wall.
I use straight lines, 90 degree corners, squares and rectangles. I designed my underground passive home to be very “feng shui” in overall feeling with rectangles as the basis for the living areas. No curves anywhere…yuk…get shivers thinking about curves in a home. On a mate, yes, on a pond, yes, on a pool? My god NO! A house? NEVER!
So there can be no “infringement” of their design ideas simply because I use passive house design and underground building techniques. Believe me, they sue when people copy their exact designs.
Anyway, Calling underground homes “Earthships” is akin to calling adhesive bandages “band-aids”. Its branding and unless they paid you for the article I would encourage you and your readers and especially future builders to research underground passive house construction NOT related to “Earthships” and instead related to sustainability and p[assive building techniques available to ALL not just those who choose to do business with Earthship designers.
