One of my hobbies is collecting and reading vintage cookbooks as most involve recipes for simple food made from every day ingredients. I have come across this cookbook Liberty Recipes. It was written in 1918 during the First World War period, when rationing and conserving food was essential. I love the way that the author has created recipes that use substitutes for wheat flour and meat.
