Reminds me of the Monty Python gag about the Spring Surprise (a chocolate covered spring that pops open in your mouth piercing both cheeks - SURPRISE!). I think they had a chocolate coated frog too - only it was a real frog. Now THIS is what I need! I got dreadfully ill once after drinking that awful pre-fab Pina Colada (don't laugh - I was about 21 & didn't know better). I don't think it was the alcohol, I think I had some tummy bug & it was just a coincidence. Fast forward to a couple of years ago same thing happened with red-wine - had a couple - got desperately sick with some gastro thing. I have never touched Pina Colada or red wine since. Now if I could just luck out & get some awful thing when I had just eaten a whole block of chocolate that would be awesome Mmmm the date thing sounds delicious. Figs AND dates sounds delicious. I make a thing with mashed very ripe banana, my own chopped pecan nuts chopped dates, sultanas & coconut. Mix it up & eat it off the spoon. Or if you were polite you could roll it into balls & dip it in coconut. I devised it once when I was trying very hard to get off sugar & gluten, but was ready to eat the table I had such awful cravings It's delicious
The only thing better than eating this stuff is rolling naked in it. Life is good when there's chocolate in it!
I have only been foolish enough to do anything of the sort once. Once was certainly enough. Chocolate is for eating, not rolling in, & not ... doing anything else with either
Will you now? That's funny ... I thought The only thing better than eating this stuff is rolling naked in it. sounded like the voice of experience
No that was wishful thinking! Obviously an activity best enjoyed with a partner. Still not happening here.
lol ... I'm going to have to get you to make me another one if I don't get any soon, because this one will have ... you know how the rest of it goes ...
Mmmm ... you got me hungry aroideana & I made a big mess of beans & ate it tonight with sour cream. It was awesome I did ground beef with some vegetables thrown in, & chilli as well as the cumin & coriander, & it was delish
I don't have a pressure cooker (fondly remember my mum's though - the sound of the valve hissing meant food was not far away!). But I did have beans for dinner - along with some pieces of goat, and home grown leeks and tomatoes. Feeling comfortably full now...
I had goat bits on the bone from the organic butcher that I fried off in some oil with the leeks, then tossed in several handfuls of black cherry tomatoes, half a cup of dried borlotti beans, a stock cube, a bay leaf and some water and let it simmer for a hour and a bit. It wasn't pretty but it sure tasted good! The goat fell off the bones and was lovely and tender.
haven't ever had goat (that i know of! ), but i'd try it. sounds good! as this is the warm food season coming on here i cooked up the reject beans the other day and have a small pot ready. the past few nights i've made a grilled cheese sandwich open faced and then piled on the beans and then hit the top with some chili sauce i had left-over from earlier in the week. the side was home made apple sauce. i'm now out of chili sauce, so i'll have to figure something else out for the zip/zing.
If you didn't know it was goat you'd think you were eating lamb. It's been hard to find locally, but after regularly asking for it in every butcher shop I frequent for years, most of them are starting to stock it.
As we are talking uses for a pressure cooker; -food -bombs -distillation stainless steel pressure cookers make fantastic home made stills. look up the instructions on you-tube make your own hooch for under $100 dollars.
Once you have had a pressure cooker explode shooting lentils on the ceiling you will never use one again. All the fail safes failed and lid blew off sailing at high sped through 2 rooms luckily not hitting anyone.
