A Canadian Rocket Stove Powered Greenhouse

How does Permaculture function in cold climate latitudes? Recently Geoff Lawton and his crew visited engineers Rob and Michelle Avis at their home in Calgary, Canada.

Rob and Michelle have transformed their urban garden into an outstanding example of good design. They run Verge Permaculture and actually encourage the neighbouring children to pick and sample the berries and vegetables that are grown in their front yard.

  1. I’m glad to know there are Canadians doing Permaculture. This is a very well planned use of their property.

I have a dream to try and find a way to grow tropical fruit trees in an offgrid and Permaculture way in an Atrium or greenhouse using solar windows. I’m waiting for technology to be ready for this. If you know where we can find Solar windows made for sky scrapers, this is what I’d like to use. I don’t know if you have seen or heard of the Eden Project in Cornwall, England? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8unx8-pZxg
This is my inspiration of what they have done. But I’d like to use it into a living environment like this.

I hope this will inspire you as well. I need to contact people who can see my vision. I hope you can tell me what you think. Thanks. You are an inspiration to what can be done.
