PRI Zaytuna Farm, Australia, Course Update

The Permaculture Research Institute Zaytuna Farm, Australia, is starting 2014 off with nothing less than a fully accredited Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) Course. Geoff Lawton will lead a line-up of Zaytuna Farm staff with a specialised 75-hour learning curriculum. It will run for two weeks from Monday the 6th to Friday the 17th of January. The course covers sustainable living systems for a wide variety of landscapes and climates. It includes the application of permaculture principles to food production, home design, construction, energy conservation and generation, and explores alternative economic structures and legal strategies supporting permaculture solutions. We still have a couple of seats available here, so there’s still a chance to get onto this very popular course if you move quick.

The next 10-Week Internship Program offered by Geoff will run concurrently to this PDC. It is a curriculum-based internship program, aimed at fast-tracking the development of permaculture-based knowledge in a wide range of specific subjects. Interns will begin their journey on the 20th of January. Note: This internship is already fully booked, but we have a wait list available for those that are interested. We can notify you if someone drops out before the course starts. Alternatively, some seats are still available on our July Internship Program.

The Permaculture Research Insitute

PRI Zaytuna Farm functions as a model farm (in development) and permaculture training facility. Geoff and Nadia Lawton, world-renowned permaculture educators and consultants, lead the project. Much of Geoff and Nadia’s time over the last few years has been spent away from the Institute, consulting and helping set up projects in diverse locales around the world. Seeing the worldwide demand for knowledgeable permaculture consultants and teachers increase exponentially, as fuel and fertiliser prices skyrocket and the effects of climate change, soil depletion and water shortages begin to hit hard, priority and focus is now shifting back to the Institute, where growing the training program will increase the output of quality teachers to help fill the growing need for them.

  1. Hello,

My name is Stanislas, I am 24, I am from France, I am an artist painter and I used to work as gardener landscaper and kitchen hand in Noosa heads.
I heard about your farm from Maxime BABIN a french guy who used to do some woofing works in your farm.
I am really interested about handy works, Sharity, nature and I am pretty curious. I have been really hooked up by his story when he was working with you.
I also need to do some special works to extend my visa, and woofing sounds like the best idea, I really want to live this experience.
I don’t know if you looking for any woofer but if you do i would love be involved in this adventure.
I am in Sydney right now but I am available anytime.

Hope to hear from you soon,
    Have a nice day.
    Kind regards,
    Stan
