This is Part B of the fourth installment in our popular Q&A series. In case you didn’t catch it on previous occasions, we added a new sub-forum titled ‘Put Your Questions to the Experts!‘, where our forum members put their questions to experienced permaculturists we’ll approach over the weeks and months ahead. First up to be the target of our combined curiosities and the salve of our perplexities, is the PRI’s own Geoff Lawton. Geoff, currently teaching at Zaytuna Farm in NSW, Australia, spends 80 minutes with us, sharing from his wealth of experience in permaculture teaching and consulting in dozens of countries worldwide.

  1. Hi Craig,

Thanks for making this valuable podcast an mp3 file which is great for those of us with limited Internet bandwidth.

    Regards. Chris

  2. I am intensely grateful for the advice you gave me and other Geoff. I am getting back on track now. Thanks again. :)

  3. Hi Bill, I think the story on that link might be a bit ‘questionable’ even though I get where you are coming from, wanting water security in Yemen.
The story to me feels like it’s planted, as a seed for the mind, by someone in the USA, as a way to get people to start looking at Yemen as a problem spot for the future, it is a story that presses lots of buttons, and leads the reader on a trail making assumptions and joining dots that might not exist.
It feels like clever wordsmithing, looking for a problem that may or may not be, linking it to other social issues that are problems in someones ‘context’ but perhaps not those of the people of Yemen, suggesting that government is ineffective.
I get the feeling I have seen this sort of thing before, next thing we know the USA will be invading Yemen, with all the usual excuses, they need democracy, security, etc.
From my understanding Geoff has got some stuff happening there, which is great news.

    1. I love your way of thinking, Carolyn Payne-Gemmell!

That is indeed what’s happening here in Yemen. There needs to be more awareness about this in the country itself as well which is growing too.
