Help the Manda Wilderness Project (Mozambique)

Nelson Mandela once said that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Help to change the world by changing one life — the Manda Wilderness Agricultural Project’s very own Assistant Manager and Agriculture Training Specialist, Hilda Cangoma. Your contribution, large or small, will help Hilda become the first local woman in the Manda Wilderness region to receive a Permaculture Design Certificate. She will use this new set of skills and expertise to train others in permaculture at the Manda Wilderness Agricultural Project and share her knowledge in Mbueca, her home village in northern Mozambique.

Hilda is the most experienced member of the Manda Wilderness Agricultural Team. She has been composting, sowing seeds, mulching and plucking insects from rocket leaves for eight years now. She lives in a house built of mud and grass located behind a hedge of papaya trees and lemon grass bushes on the farm site. She enjoys offering agricultural training to farm visitors and cares greatly for the development of the project. She believes in the health benefits that can be gained by diversifying the crops that are grown at home.

The total cost of the Permaculture Design Certificate course (a discounted rate which includes course fees, food and accommodation) and transportation to the course site is 300 USD. Do your part to give Hilda a brighter future!
